Interview with BE Engineer, Erotic Expansion Writer and Art Producer

Shown above is the second illustration in the “At Her Peak” story.

BE Engineer is a writer who has been active in the size-fetish community for many years. Per his Patreon profile he is a lover of breasts and breasts getting bigger! He is also the founder of Swell Tales dot com. Not in its previous iteration when the URL belonged to surfers in San Diego, but the current version hosting authors who primarily create erotic fiction centered on women becoming large. Although, they also occasionally write about male transformations such as penis enlargement. As of mid-September 2025 Swell Tales had 1,292 stories and 2,183 users. Currently, Swell Tales is running the Spookspansion tale contest. They’re seeking stories featuring hourglass growth, pumpkins, and PG-rated thriller elements. First prize includes a free illustration. Furthermore, Swell Tales includes a commission directory for authors to advertise their services. A recent BE Engineer story, “At Her Peak,” featured a greedy cheerleader hungry to boost her bust who takes a little too much of the growing catalyst and outgrows an entire gym! That story can be read for free and includes several art pieces charting her developments. Fans can follow BE Engineer via Bluesky, DeviantArt, and X/Twitter. Lastly, folks can support him via Patreon!

#1) Can you tell the readers a little about yourself?

I’m a 30-something-year-old living somewhere in the Pacific Northwest with my beautiful wife, a dog, and three cats. My main occupation is a programmer, and I write at night either for Patreon or professionally. I’m proud to say I currently have four book contracts with a publisher! I love Magic: the Gathering, Pokémon, camping, running, and brewing mead. A random fun fact might be that my fastest mile time in high school was 4:30.

Writing has been a hobby of mine since childhood, as well as the concept of expansion. The two didn’t merge until around 2016 or so when I started thinking about if I could make some money on the side writing about what I love. The Patreon took off, eventually I started working with artists and producing art, and things ballooned from there.

As far as Swell Tales is concerned, that came about because I found myself frustrated whenever I posted public literary content. There were older sites dedicated to expansion literature, like TheOverflowingBra, but they were outdated and clunky and weren’t very full-featured. DeviantArt was especially a pain in the butt for both posting and reading. It also felt hard to find anything from the huge pile of content. I wanted something quick to post to, and had all the data about the story that readers would want when finding something to read. After roughly 7 months of programming, I soft-launched Swell Tales for Patreon members in May of 2023. The site continued to grow through feedback and other users uploading their stories until we officially launched publicly in September of 2023. Things have only grown from there! It’s been an amazing journey and the community has been very encouraging about the site as a whole. I’ve loved watching it expand. Maria, the site’s mascot, has been a lot of fun as well. We’ve gotten a lot of art done of her. Still waiting for the day when I start seeing fan art of her pop up.

#2) How did you first become interested in breast expansion?

This is always a classic question. I can’t really say what spurred my love for it, other than just watching the girls in my class develop around me. If a little growth was good, then surely more growth would be better, right? Eventually, I started getting sneaky on the computer and eventually found breast expansion content, namely Bambi Blaze’s old site, Expansion Mansion, and of course others like The BE Archive. I’ve been in love with the fetish ever since.

#3) What are a few of your favorite works from other creators?

As far as videos go, I’m a big fan of Bambi Blaze and Lovely Lilith. Lakeyhylia was a big favorite of mine in the art space. When it comes to other writers, when I have a chance to read stuff, I tend to go back to a few old works from Dr. Enlarge, namely stories like “The Mistake”, “The Operation”, “Circular”, or “Water Weight”. He was a big inspiration for my fetish writing.

#4) How would you describe your stories?

I would describe my stories as porn with a point. The majority of my stories aren’t usually based around pure sex and mindless lust. I like to think they have a good amount of emotion and well-rounded characters. And I mean well-rounded in both respects. For me, the girl’s reaction to growth is just as important as the growth itself, if not more, so I tend to really lean into the character interactions and their dialogue. My stories also tend heavily toward the more cartoony side of expansion. Treating breasts or other body parts more like balloons and such. Milk, air, water, slime, regular swelling, it’s all fair game to me. In my stories, you won’t find a lot of realistic stuff, like girls learning how to live with gigantic breasts or going through day-to-day life with a growing chest. I enjoy writing short, explosive plots that usually take place within a day or less, and usually involve the growth being a surprise or a challenge for the main character. I’ll dance around the threat of popping quite a bit, but only use it as a way to build tension. I’ve done my share of popping stories as well, but mostly as commissions.

I feel like I need to mention the sound effects I include in my stories, because they’ve become a part of my signature at this point. Professionally, I can’t stand them. But whenever I bring them up, readers say they like them. It adds a dimension to the growth that makes it a little more real in their minds. I’ve had some tell me the sound effects are like cues telling them something good is about to happen, or they even use them as a masturbation aid/guide.

#5) Do you have any advice for others who want to draw or write breast expansion stories?

When it comes to writing, I think the number one rule is to just write what you would want to watch or experience for yourself. That’s just another way of saying to write what you’re interested in. Writing about something that excites you makes the process twenty times easier and opens that flow from your mind to the page. If your heart is racing while you’re writing, you’re doing it right. You’ll never, ever, please everybody, so you might as well at least please yourself. Rule number two would be outlines. It gives you a chance to tell the story to yourself first at a high level, and even better, gives you a map to follow when you actually start writing. A lot of times, I can’t think of an ending until I’m working on the outline and I’ve followed the story through. Then the ending becomes obvious.

Other advice would be to worry about editing and corrections later. The most important part is getting the story on paper. You can always clean it up later. On that same note, though, always proofread your stuff. There will always be typos and grammatical errors. Authors just can’t catch them all. If they could, editors wouldn’t exist. Always read your stuff through at least once before posting. It can only make it better. If you really want to make it clean, have a computer read it aloud for you. You’ll be surprised how many mistakes you find when you’re listening to your own words and not reading them. And lastly, be open to feedback and criticism. And also know how to tell the difference between constructive criticism and someone who just likes to find the flaws in something.

When it comes to art… I’m probably not the best guy to ask. I can barely draw a bath. I’ve learned a lot about framing and composition over the years while working with my artists, though. Like any other profession, practice just makes perfect and you’ll never become skilled at anything if you don’t start trying. Take inspiration from others, but don’t compare yourself to the ‘greats’. Grow into your own creative power mind and become great in your own right, while keeping in mind that nothing happens overnight. It took me 8 years and a couple thousand pages to get to this point. Have patience in yourself and the growth will come.

#6) What are the perks given to your Patreon supporters?

Our Patreon is LOADED. Myself and the artists I partner with (currently Draggo, Adix, and MooseTracks) all work VERY hard every month. If my Patreon were a bra, it would be ready to explode. Content access depends on the subscription tier. They range from $1 to $10 for the general content. Above that we have two tiers for commission-based rewards for short stories and pin-ups. To look at both ends of the spectrum, $1 gets you access to a longer monthly story with six illustrations and premium Swell Tales access, and $10 gets you:

  • the monthly illustrated story
  • premium Swell Tales access
  • animation WIPs
  • full animations
  • animations in comic form
  • an expansion caption
  • a total of 4 pin-ups
  • access to three monthly short stories
  • access to the monthly chapter of “Expanding Horizons: Enchanted”
  • access to the monthly art for “Expanding Horizons”

I should also mention we have a $20 tier meant specifically for supporting Swell Tales. It provides the same rewards as the $10 tier, but is available for those who want to support the site specifically and believe in its worth to the community. I’m always surprised by the handful of people willing to join that tier.

It should go without saying that all of the content we produce is only because we have so many supporters. None of this would be possible without their contributions. I get flak sometimes about hiding content behind previews and such, but at the end of the day, it’s necessary. Art, whether written or drawn, takes a lot of heart to produce and we all have families to feed. So if you’re reading this and you’re a patron or have been, thank you from the bottom of my heart for making all of this possible.

#7) Are there any upcoming projects you would like to mention?

We’re bringing back animations! This month (September) marks the first time we’re posting WIPs for the animations Draggo and I have been working on. We plan on releasing completed animations every other month, with the first one set for October. It looks amazing and I can’t wait to share it. Draggo has said multiple times that his goal is to make the best expansion animations out there.

I should also mention my story, “Expanding Horizons: Enchanted”. It’s an ongoing fantasy novel centered around breast expansion and lactation. A new chapter is released every month. It even includes at least one illustration per chapter. It’s been going for almost five years and is over 300 pages. And finally, after so long, it’s nearing the end. Once it’s all wrapped up and the art is caught up, I plan to release it as a physical book. I’m very excited to see that happen.

Thank you for doing this interview!
