Giantess Fan’s “Worst Day Ever”

Good morning everyone,

It is fun to spotlight unusual media on April 1st, April Fools’ Day. Although, reviewing previous years revealed that I most often failed to commemorate the holiday here on this blog. Still, 2020 had a rather unique take on modern European history and 2022 showcased Sergio Aragonés’s comedic barbarian Groo the Wanderer. This year’s April Fools’ Day will involve an especially meta comic published by Giantess Fan called “Worst Day Ever.” One could argue that a true April Fools’ Day post should trick hapless people into reading a dissertation on hamster husbandry instead of giantesses 😉 Maybe next year!

Giantess-Cassie wrote both issues of the “Worst Day Ever” series, but has not penned any other stories for Giantess Fan. (NOTE: Fans can view her Deviant page by clicking here.) Sedna Studio’s Kaka did the lineart while Sedna Studio’s LRC did the coloring. Unlike Giantess-Cassie both artists have worked on many other comics for Giantess Fan.

Interweb Comics (parent company of Giantess Fan and its sister sites) published the first issue in late September 2015 while the sequel appeared in mid-May 2016. Sadly, while the second issue had “To Be Continued” printed on the last page there has yet to be a third installment in the nearly ten years since then. However, Giantess Club’s Ascension had a 9-year gap between part 1 and the follow-up. So, if Ascension can be renewed then a Worst Day Ever can be as well.

Worst Day Ever’s gimmick was the inclusion of an implausibly large number of MacGuffins to cause size change in the forms of height increase and breast expansion. These MacGuffins were a variety of scientific means ranging from a meteorite (a la Susan Murphy a.k.a. “Ginormica” in 2009’s “Monsters vs. Aliens”) to strange blue goo to a ray gun to an explosion in the radiation lab at the exact second she was walking past the door and more! (SIDE NOTE: Perhaps surprisingly, there was no magic like a spell or mystic charm.) Fortunately for our heroine she fantasized about being an impossibly tall woman. Still, the timing for her metamorphosis was rather unfortunate as it occurred on the same day she needed to present her final thesis.

Red dreamed of being unusually tall while wearing a sling bikini. As do we all obviously…

A careless roommate named Tina ruined Red’s thesis so Tina was the antagonist whose actions drove Red to run at a frenzied pace across the campus. During this journey Red encountered several young men and a so-called “growth biologist” desiring to change women’s bodies without their consent. You might have been surprised that I wrote “without consent.” It is merely noting that men used chemicals, ray guns, and secretly altered food to change women without disclosing this intent beforehand.

For example, two men arguing in a hallway used their chemical and ray on hapless co-eds who were merely in the wrong place at the wrong time. Additionally, another guy ran around campus tagging ladies with the meteorite that originally struck Tina without stopping to ask if the ladies actually wanted to grow. (SIDE NOTE: I would love to see the tables turned by a story in which a woman runs around turning men into giants without so much as a “by your leave.”)

Red was striving to reach the main computer lab where a friend called Alex could reprint her thesis. Alex’s helpful nature would later be rewarded with a lovemaking session between him and the still-growing Red.

Gentle giantess fans take note that while the violence was not gruesome this tale did include Red squashing her dean underfoot and Red attempting to vore the aforementioned inconsiderate roommate. The dean never appeared afterward so he probably died. To be clear, the dean had just attempted to steal Red’s thesis to give to an athlete so the dean had wronged Red before she resorted to violence.

In contrast, I *think* the vored roommate survived, yet her fate was unclear. Tina flew high through the air and landed in the “Marcon University Outdoor Pool.” She was floating in the water with X’s over her eyes which is often, but not always, an indicator that a cartoon character has died. This ambiguity could have been resolved with some dialogue. Tina could have said “That was a hell of a trip!” or something akin to that. Being spit out by a hundred-foot plus giantess then traveling through the sky for miles (possibly hundreds or thousands of miles) would entail a fatal amount of physical force, but we were not meant to approach this story expecting realistic physics.

Another area to improve would be to establish the story’s location. The locale was never stated. So, an improvement would be to simply tell readers where the action took place. That information was important because Tina landed in a pool at the Macron University (possibly meant to be a university in France) and Alex commented “Wow! You really got some distance on her.” But we did not know where Tina was when Red first spat her out. So, the question was how far did Tina travel. Did she go halfway around the world from America’s West Coast to land on another continent? Or did she merely go from one city to another inside a single country? Obviously either option is an incredible distance. Regardless, this bit would have been more humorous if she went from U.C.L.A. in Los Angeles, California to Sorbonne University in Paris, France.

Most significant and already mentioned was the abrupt ending. Much like a Gary Pranzo video this ends smack dab in the midst of the action with a huge woman in the middle of a city. The final panel shows show sort of command post screen in front of which an unidentified person says “It has been deflected, but we missed the stone.” Presumably, “it” referred to a missile and the “stone” was the missile’s warhead en route to hit Red and further affect her. Alas, until Giantess Fan publishes the third issue we will not know for sure! Nonetheless, there was enough plot and action to make a good read for me even if others may dislike the unresolved cliffhanger.

Overall, Worst Day Ever is highly recommended. Not only was it an enjoyable romp through common tropes, but it also had a very satisfactory growth and sex scene in the second issue. Folks can find it at Giantess Fan.
