Interview with BigBeerBear, Creator of “Project Angel”

BigBeerBear is the creator of “Project Angel,” an animated giantess series on YouTube. Project Angel takes place in a world where bio-mechanical mosquitoes carry “Power” that turns regular-sized women into towering giantesses. After those mosquitoes bite someone, the newly-empowered giant women often rampage and inflict deadly destruction upon nearby cities. Four meteorites, called “stars,” landed on Earth three months before episode 1 and carried those disruptive insects. Countering that threat is “G-Force,” a government agency which employs their own giantesses to defend humanity. Of note, the first two episodes have no sound, only subtitles, but the third was fully voiced. Fans can follow BigBeerBear on DeviantArt and support him via Patreon.

#1) Can you tell the readers a little about yourself?

I’m living in a small town in Greater Poland Voivodeship (The province where the whole Polish state started) I have many jobs, these are working for local cultural association, delivering goods to restaurant, advertising, sometimes teaching art in school, sometimes demonstrations of knightly combat and equipment, some cultural projects or events and my main job is working at movie theater where I spend 8 hours a day (If everything goes well). My hobbies are Live Action Role Playing, AirSoft Guns, Medieval Crafting, drinking beer, Paleontology and of course animating. Don’t ask me how I find time for all of this.

#2) How did you first become interested in giant women?

I don’t remember, maybe when I first thought of replacing godzilla with a girl when I was kid, I was very stuck to godzilla movies at that time.

#3) What are a few of your favorite works from other creators?

I like almost everything I can find on Deviantart but at this moment I’m waiting for the next part of LFCfanGTS’s Bullies for sure. I don’t want to spam this review with creators whose arts I love, but I remember it well that my childhood idols were Alloy Rabbit and Unseen Harbinger. This year I’ve ordered first three tomes of Nikukai’s Giant Ojou Sama and it’s the only material art from other artists I have. (EDITOR’S NOTE: Click here to learn more about Giant Ojo-sama.)

#4) How would you describe your art?

I’m just having fun improving my skills. I resigned from university and commercial agency so that no one would tell me what to do, this is my hobby, I gained skills through my effort and masses of mistakes but it was fun for me. Project Angel series is important to me because it forced me to be brave, learn English and start to speaking with people from abroad and make a series I just wanted to see. My goal is to improve my abilities and skills to create better and better animations, each next episode is much more advanced than the previous one, and this is to be the case throughout the whole series. By the time Project Angel is over I should be good enough at animating to start another of the many series I have written down and it’s all just because I want to watch them.

#5) Any advice for people who want to make their own animated series?

Make mistakes and learn from them or you’ll never learn.

#6) When can we expect Episode 4?

I don’t really know, this is one of the disadvantages of improving the quality of episodes, they take more time.
