Life is certainly stressful in my humble abode as is the case at countless households around the world. Compounding the isolation stress is the fact that my family has decided to embrace healthy eating and thus long gone are comfort foods. (Long story short, I’d kill for a beef chalupa with chips ‘N salsa! 😉 )
Therefore, I will distract my mind from thoughts of social distancing and fatty fried foods. Instead, I will turn back the clock to look at some size-fetish material from the last century. Over a year ago, I reviewed the first in the Peculiar Tales series, Peculiar Tales #1. Today, let’s check out the second issue. Like its predecessor, this is a black and white comic created over two decades ago in the final decade of the 20th century.
Sterling Comics Peculiar Tales Issue #2 was written by Drake C. Letcher with art by Zanfadar (a.k.a. Dean Burnett). Zanfadar has a DeviantArt page here. Peculiar Tales #2 came out in April 1998. (Almost a year after the first issue was released in July of 1997.)
While entitled “A Visit from the Titty Fairy,” this comic featured transformations beyond those of a mammary nature. This also portrayed muscle growth, hair expansion (perhaps lengthening is a more apt descriptor), and giantess transformation.
The story begins with Lisa, a young lady who is dumped by her boyfriend Joe for a tall blonde named Cindy. Afterward, a stranger appears on Lisa’s door step and he calls himself the “Titty Fairy,” a distant cousin of the tooth fairy apparently. He provides the expected boob boost, but Lisa wrestles the magic wand from him and explores its full potential!
Resembling the first entry in this series, the art is simplistic and many panels have no backgrounds. Instead, characters float upon white settings, devoid of details. For example, see the following panel taken from page 17:
Additionally, while female characters outgrow clothes and completely expose their curvy bodies, there are no sex scenes 😥
As the plot advances, Lisa, in a poorly conceived move, enlarges Cindy, her romantic rival.
Accordingly, Lisa decides to further transform her trio of friends and use them to win Joe back. Most of these ladies are unnamed; although, reference was made to a “Pam,” who I think is the dark-haired woman wearing a bikini with vertical stripes in the image below.
Much of the dialogue is portrayed in colloquial fashion with contractions such as “C’Mon” for “Come one.” Even taking the informal English into account, there were a few misspellings as seen below:
The story is excessively simple. Lisa’s only motivation is to be in a relationship with Joe. Ditto for Cindy. Two of Lisa’s friends were not given names, much less motivations beyond “get bigger.” 🙂 Potential readers should expect growth for the sake of growth vice a full-fledged narrative.
Like the rest of D.C. Letcher’s comics, Peculiar Tales #2 is hard to find. I’d love to see Peculiar Tales placed online for purchase at $2.99 per issue. Currently, the series can only be bought in hard-copy format via posts made on giantess-themed forums. Given the higher quality in modern comics sold for less money, the original $20 cost per issue would not inspire many buyers.
Nonetheless, this was a unique comic created at a time when such material was rare indeed! I fully understand why it was initially priced at $20. It’s instructive to examine such works and consider how far the medium has advanced since then, and consider how size-fetish comics might further improve in the future!

There She Grows 
This is right up my alley, silly fun indeed. I have all the Tales series personally, never regretted it, they are just fun.
