April 2025 Reader Questions & Review Requests

Screenshot from HBO’s 1993 remake of “Attack of the 50 Ft. Woman” shows Harry in the grip of his fifty-foot (ish) wife Nancy Archer.

Welcome back everyone,

It is my unfortunate duty to report that I have allowed an assortment of questions to build up in my inbox. This embarrassing state of affairs shall last no longer! Today is the day to catch up on e-mails and answer questions. First off, let me start with the oldest queries from an anonymous reader who sent correspondence in October 2024:

#1. In regards to Tim Burton’s remake of “Attack of the 50 Foot Woman,” what do you think should be different in the film in comparison to the 1958 and 1993 versions?

Most of my recommendations assume Tim Burton’s remake will be rated PG-13. I would quite enjoy a XXX-rated “Attack of The 50 Ft. Woman” (AoTFFW) with at least three different growth scenes starring erotic models. Performers could include Angela White as Nancy Archer (the titular 50 foot woman), Danny D as Nancy’s husband Harry Archer, and Rachel Aldana as Harry’s mistress Honey Parker.

However, a mature AoTFFW is not in the cards. Therefore, here’s hoping the powers that be remake 1994’s Attack of the 50 Foot Hooker 🙂

Hurry up and start production on the remake before Sean Micheals retires!

Going back to what could realistically happen in Tim Burton’s AoTFFW, of course I want a detailed growth scene using the latest advancements in computer-generated imagery (CGI) and practical special effects. Nudity will likely not be permitted, but Nancy could still grow out of her clothes. Burton could film it in the same manner as the Village of the Giants growth scene in which characters outgrew their clothing, but did not show genitals or female nipples.

I would also include Easter eggs to pay homage to the original film. For example, Ken Terrell primarily worked as a stuntman, but he switched to acting not long before AoTFFW. Terrell played Nancy Archer’s loyal butler Jess Stout and I would like to see someone revisit his character in the next iteration. That is a tiny detail which nobody but me would care about, but still I would love to see a new actor duplicate Jess Stout’s tussle on the stairs with Harry Archer.

In that same vein, honor the immigrants who made AoTFFW. Director Nathan Juran (he used Nathan Hertz in the AoTFFW credits) was born in Austria-Hungary and screenwriter Mark Hanna was from a Lebanese Arabic-speaking family.

Above text from Mark Hanna’s autobiography “Attack of the 50 Foot Woman at Schwab’s Drugstore”

So, you have this American cult classic that was directed and written by immigrants! Accordingly, it would be cool if a nod to their backgrounds could be included. Maybe have Nancy and Harry dine at a Lebanese restaurant and interact with someone from eastern Europe. Go further and cast Lebanese-American Mia Khalifa as Nancy; that would be sure to ruffle feathers.

Keep Nancy as the richest person in town married to a philandering husband trying to steal her money. Hell, even keep the oversized alien with his medieval garb adorned with fleur-de-lis and call attention to his wardrobe! Presumably, the low budget necessitated using costumes that the wardrobe department already had. Give Nancy some incredulous dialogue like “Hey, is he wearing fleur-de-lis?” right before the alien kidnaps her.

I would retain the bath in the swimming pool from the 1993 remake, but ramp up the sexiness. In HBO’s version Harry was a fool and spurned Nancy’s romantic advances. So, once again show the enormous beauty with her naked body obscured by bubbles and foam, but this time she appears to be experiencing pleasure. Harry is not completely sure what is going on so he walks closer for a better look. Nancy lifts her hand from the water and we see a man or woman clutched in her hands. “Hope you weren’t underwater for too long,” says Nancy to her comparatively tiny companion. “Not at all!” replies the person between her fingers. Turns out the individual was being used as a willing sex toy. Make Harry a cuckold forced to watch his wife having sex with another person, but she is much too big and powerful for him to interfere.

Harry attempts to shame his wife, but she will not accept censure. Instead, Nancy tells Harry that she has learned of his infidelity and intends to divorce him. Incensed, Harry drops a large power cord in the water to kill his wife. At first, this violent act appears to work with Nancy twitching then falling unconscious. Harry prematurely celebrates until Nancy begins to grow even larger! We see her eyes flash open then Harry runs away and the scene transitions into Nancy rampaging through town searching for him. The finale would not involve a bloody ending, but Harry would definitely get his comeuppance.

So, bottom line, there is a lot that I would not change. My preferred AoTFFW remake would include callbacks to the first two films. What I would do different is to increase sex appeal without showing nudity or outright sex acts. Finally, I would leave Nancy Archer as a giantess alive and well and actively involved in human affairs. She would not be killed (like in the original) or carted off in a space ship (like in the remake) thus re-establishing the status quo. Instead, Nancy would close out the film with the line “Things are going to change around here” and leave audiences considering what changes an all-powerful woman would make to our society.

#2. If the 1965 film, ‘Village of the Giants,” ever gets a remake in the future, what do you think should be done differently in comparison to the original film and what is your dream castings for the characters in the remake version?

Hmm… good question. Youthful discontent will always be pertinent so maintain that theme, but give it more bite. I never believed Fred when he complained about adults. Especially, after Fred had boasted that his Dad was the “biggest in the business,” meaning meat packing, in Los Angeles. Presumably, that meant Fred was rich and, all other things being equal, being rich means less problems. He never articulated something concrete that adults did which restricted him or his friends.

The creators could have made this a serious film. Fred could have complained about adults wanting to draft him and his male friends into the Army to die in Vietnam. That was a concern which Village of the Giants (VoTG) was never going to touch and also one which did not affect rich people (like Fred) as much as it did the poor. Wealthy folks hired doctors to diagnose them with medical conditions, like bone spurs, that allowed them to evade the draft. So, there were real problems in 1960s America that VoTG was too scared to mention.

Give the remake more salience by articulating a real problem in 2020s America. Move the story out of California into a more restrictive, but unnamed, state. Place the action in a town right on the border of a state without reproductive rights and another one with. Use a deft touch, do not say the word “abortion” but instead allude to the medical procedure. Make one of the main characters have a close friend that died because doctors were afraid to give her the healthcare she needed.

Place one of Nancy’s girlfriends in a similar predicament. Set up a conflict in which Mike and Nancy face off against local law enforcement. This time Fred and his associates will be a callous sheriff and his deputies who are accustomed to pushing around young people, but are at a loss contending with thirty-foot giants. That’s right this time around Mike and his gang will be the giants. Those giants plan to take Nancy over the state line to get help and they do not give a damn who tries to stop them. Above all, this needs to be entertaining. Make Fred and his friends bumbling idiots, easily mocked and lampooned, particularly when they can no longer use physical force to exert their will.

This would require radical changes to the original narrative, much more than what was recommended for an AoTFFW remake. However, the original VoTG was a flop and there is no reason to believe repeating the same plot will yield better results today. Sure, viewers might complain and it might be controversial, but there is nothing wrong with getting people talking.

Regarding the casting, we could lean on nepotism like original director and producer Bert I. Gordon did when he cast daughters (like Tisha Sterling who had two famous parents, Ann Southern and Robert Sterling) and sons (like Beau Bridges whose dad was Lloyd Bridges) of famous Hollywood actors. Accordingly, a new Village of the Giants could be cast from modern nepo babies like Maya Hawke (daughter of Ethan Hawke and Uma Thurman) as Nancy.

But let’s favor talent over connections to cast Timothée Chalamet as Mike (the lead protagonist) and Will Poulter as Fred (the chief antagonist). To be honest, I struggle making casting decisions because all the actors I know are thirty-years old or older. Ideally, the cast would be promising newcomers in their 20s. Is there a twenty-something actress that can duplicate Joy Harmon’s performance? Let me know!

#3. If the 2011 film, “Apocalypse, CA” ever gets a remake in the future, what do you think should be done differently so that it would be better/more successful then the original film?

To be frank, Apocalypse, CA (read my review here) was not entertaining enough to warrant a remake. Sounds like I’m being a dick so let me back up and be more charitable. The creators actually made a film which is certainly more than I can say!

I say we make this a sequel, not a remake. Call it “Apocalypse, FL” and move the action to the East Coast. Center a giantess as the primary threat, the reason for the apocalypse. In Apocalypse, CA an asteroid was heading toward Earth so the giantess was just a complication before the entire world died. In the sequel the giantess is the threat. Begin with her as a 300-foot tall badass mercilessly killing select folks and ruthlessly swatting military and police personnel trying to stop her. Eventually, she encounters a man and for some reason he intrigues her. The man accompanies the giantess and learns that the folks she targets are guilty of horrendous misdeeds. Finally, the giantess approaches her last target’s mansion. A military force is poised to defend the target, but then they move aside, having heard of the target’s misdeeds, and let the giantess proceed unopposed.

#4. If someone were to do a live-action adaptation of Ivy Maxwell’s ” The Growth Chronicles,” who do you think should portray the women from the series; both as their normal and muscular selves?

Ah, this is a great question! A casting director could select women like Alicia Vikander, Hilary Knight, Katy O’Brian (star of “Love Lies Bleeding) to portray characters after their muscular transformations. Those actresses could also portray the pre-transformation versions of the characters by initially dressing in clothes that de-emphasize or hide their ripped physiques. Want to go all out so cast actual adult performers like cam model Busty Ema, seen below, to portray those women who get a substantial bust increase! Those busty but inexperienced performers would need a lot of help so hire an acting couch as well 🙂

Your question prompted me to check Amazon to see if anymore sequels were created, but alas the series is still stuck on issue 6, released in October 2021. Ivy Maxwell, if you ever read this, know you got more than a few fans begging for more Growth Chronicles!

#5. Have you seen any giantess videos created by someone named ScragBoy?

I have not. So, I went to X/Twitter and checked out their profile. Those are some hot videos! May have to review a few in the future.

Another anonymous reader alerted me to a 20-minute movie called “Unbirth” featuring AstroDomina and Viva Athena that was supposed to be out on March 24, 2025. As of this writing it has yet to actually appear. However, I will try to review it if or when it comes out.

Lastly, I want to respond to a blog reader disappointed in the Kaylee series by Redfiredog. I omitted the reader’s name, but otherwise included their entire message in bolded text below. Be advised that the message explains the plot and the ending so do not read if you want to avoid spoilers. My responses are interspersed among the reader’s comments:

Hello,

I’m reaching out regarding a review you wrote earlier and to see if you might consider a follow-up. The review in question concerns the Kaylee series by Redfiredog.

For those unfamiliar, I previously reviewed the Kaylee series up to part 19 in November 2022. (SIDE NOTE: Click here for my review.) The series began in March 2019 and continued on after my review not finishing until part 26 was released in mid-November 2024.

As you may know, the series concluded last November, and the ending left the fanbase deeply divided, to say the least. While artistic expression and creative choices are always factors to consider, the final chapters felt like a blatant bait-and-switch.

Redfiredog was aware of the negative response as seen in the following post from DeviantArt:

The story revolves around three women from the Kloss family—sisters Kaylee and Kayla, and their mother, Krystal. At the series conclusion, all three experience immense growth, with Kayla perishing in the penultimate chapter. This set the stage for what seemed to be the ultimate showdown between Kaylee and Krystal.

Given that Kaylee is the titular character and the focal point of the story, readers naturally expected her to emerge victorious—ascending beyond the universe itself as a dark, god-like force. However, in an abrupt and unearned twist, it is Krystal who claims victory instead.

What makes this particularly frustrating is that Redfiredog’s promotional material leading up to the final chapter did nothing to hint at this outcome. Fans who invested years into the series were blindsided by an ending that directly contradicted the buildup and marketing.

I understand this may sound like the frustration of a disappointed reader, but it goes beyond that. The way the conclusion was handled—and the way it was misrepresented—feels like a deliberate disregard for the audience. I personally don’t have a lot of disposable income, yet I followed this series avidly and paid for the final installment, only to feel cheated by the outcome. I requested a refund due to my disappointment, but Redfiredog has ignored my request, further reinforcing the impression that he has little regard for his supporters.

With that in mind, I wanted to ask if you might consider updating your review to warn others about this behaviour. Given how little regard the author seems to have for fan expectations, there’s every reason to believe something like this could happen again.

Thank you for your time, and I’d appreciate any thoughts you have on this.

I appreciate your feelings, but I will not update my review. To be completely clear, I have absolutely no problems with anyone sharing opinions. Everyone should be free to express whether or not they hate or love a story. As mentioned previously, Redfiredog is aware of the negative opinions and reached out via Bluesky, see that post here, for more feedback. I replied to Redfiredog and shared your feedback without disclosing your identity.

In the past Redfiredog provided free copies of Girls Night for a review, click here for it. I mention that fact in the interest of full disclosure. Readers must decide for themselves if the chance that I might get more free comics will affect my opinion. Regarding that specific review, we chatted about it afterward and it was clear to me that Redfiredog was not happy with my perspective. Still, he never asked me to change or remove it. I would not have done so even if he asked, but the point is that he never asked. That it is to his credit.

As a general rule, I do not support giving refunds because customers did not like a story’s ending. I sympathize and have also felt buyer’s remorse, for example after buying the fourth and last issue of Botcomics “For Her Pleasure.” Accordingly, in my review I recommended buying the first three issues and skipping the finale. However, I did not request a refund. I paid for the experience of reading a comic and that is what I received.

If we as a community of size-fetish customers demand money back when we do not like a story’s conclusion then we will lose opportunities to be challenged or surprised. Creators will react by providing unchallenging and non-innovative stories for fear of causing offense. Put frankly, we would get a lot of boring shit. To draw parallels with mainstream American comics, maybe it upsets me that Superman dies in a particular issue or that a particular foe, say Livewire just to give a completely random example, temporarily bests the last son of Krypton in battle. Alternatively, maybe those unexpected events make me appreciate something new about my favorite comic book hero. It would be a mistake to lose those chances.

Furthermore, if granting refunds became normal then that could devastate size-fetish artists and writers. They already contend with the higher rate of chargebacks for sex work compared to other industries. Customers pay for sex work, but then dispute the charges to hide those transactions from parents or romantic partners. Other times customers may do so because of personal shame or simply a desire to defraud sex workers. Regardless of the reason, chargebacks are an all-too common issue. No need to further exacerbate the situation by normalizing refunds because a story was deemed unsatisfactory.

Negative feedback hurts and I have certainly not been immune to less-than-positive receptions. For example, someone gave Alaskan Girls vs the Ice Monkey a one-star review at Amazon. However, they did not provide details, only the one-star rating, so I have no idea what was so bad.

So far, this story has received a one-star rating and a three-star rating for an average of 2.0.

There may be scenarios when content is so different than what was advertised that it warrants recompense. However, I would save that for the most extreme situations. That is my take. What do you, the readers, think? Comment below or e-mail me your thoughts. Until next time, keep growing!

How about adult performer Codi Vore, https://x.com/Codi_Vore, as Jean in the next VoTG?
