Look Back at 2023, the Top Ten List, and Hopes for 2024!

Good morning everyone,

It is January 2024 and the sixth year of the Reiwa (令和) era. Let’s look back at the year that was 2023 before we venture any further into 2024.

To begin with it feels natural to examine instances of giants and tiny people in mass media and try to determine if macrophilia or size fetish has reached a significantly higher level of appreciation or recognition. We see a desire for public recognition displayed by size fans whenever a well-known news outlet publishes a new article about our fetish. This has been true since time immemorial and will be so in the far-flung future. Fans will thrill when PlayboySalonVice Media on a distant outer space colony tasks Glee Glork the Glamorian to write a piece in the 25th century.

Okay, I cannot actually guarantee what Glee Glork will choose to write about, but such an article would be in keeping with the ongoing trend which began with an article written by Jon Bowen in 1999.

Go here for the original article: https://www.salon.com/1999/05/22/macrophilia/

Psychology Today in 2015 and Playboy in 2016 released earlier articles on the topic of giantess love or macrophile. Recently, Vice Media released their own piece about giantess lovers in mid-December 2023 based upon year-end search statistics from Clips4Sale, a site which described itself as “the world’s #1 fetish video marketplace.” Other writers released similar articles also based on that Clips4Sale data. For more context please read Aborigen’s post where he discussed the original Vice article, a similar Mashable article, and lesser derivatives in GTS for the Next Generation.

To be fair, Magdalene Taylor, the writer for Vice, presented the fetish in a neutral manner without harsh judgement. However, I was still mildly irritated because these types of articles feel repetitive. Lovers of giants and tinies have been creating videos, making photo collages, and writing stories long before TikTok came online in 2016. To see just one example read the review of Hustler’s “Attack of the 50-Foot Honey.” That was a short four-page color comic printed in the June 1983 issue of Hustler which featured a prostitute called Honey growing to enormous dimensions and hosting an orgy on her body, as one does.

The writer at Vice could have interviewed authors of size fetish or performers who appear in size fetish videos. It’s one thing for an amateur writer to ask a size fetish creator for an interview. It’s quite another thing for an employee at Vice Media Group, “the world’s largest independent youth media company” per a 2021 article by Australian media company Nine, to ask. Presumably, if a writer can claim that they work for Vice that would encourage people to agree to an interview. Yet, it appears that they made no effort to include interviews. I was not involved in the process so I cannot state with complete certainty that the author did not try to interview people. However, in my opinion at least one author or performer would have agreed to an interview if Vice had only asked.

It was also disappointing that little research went into the Vice article. Apparently, pertinent forums which have existed for nearly twenty years such as Giantess City or newer ones like Daddy’s Dollhouse were not worth discussing. Instead, the article merely provided a cursory examination of the topic on Clips4Sale, Reddit, and TikTok.

It is understandable if an amateur size fetish writer is unable to dedicate time to research a topic before blogging about it. Amateur writers are not paid or if they are paid it is far less than a professional writer. They rely upon other jobs to pay the bills. They have to squeeze in research between other priorities in life. In contrast, media outlets like Vice pay their employees to write and thus the writers have more time to research. Although, Vice declared Chapter 11 Bankruptcy in May 2023 (see “Vice Media Files For Chapter 11 Bankruptcy” by Jesse Whittock for details) so they are not as financially secure as I assumed.

On a related note, given that the term “macrophile” has existed for decades, how many times must it be defined or worse treated like something brand new? “Macro” is a prefix taken from Greek which means large and appears in words such as macroeconomics (used in the title of numerous American college courses), macronutrients (sometimes shortened to “macros” as in dieting advice which tells people to “mind your macros”), and macroscopic (meaning visible to the naked eye as opposed to microscopic). Furthermore, “phile” is used in words such as Anglophile (lover of England or English things), audiophile (lover of sound and often a buyer of expensive stereo systems), and Francophile (lover of France or French things).

Therefore, can writers stop defining macrophile in their articles given that the two components which together make the word “macrophile” are arguably commonly understood? That’s not claiming that every single reader will understand, but those who do not can look it up. Perhaps by using macrophile without defining it we can avoid an unintentional implication that people loving size differences is a new phenomenon.

More substantial indications of growing interest in size fetish included at least three new YouTube channels launched in 2023 by creators in Asia as shown in this collage:

In order from youngest to oldest channel they are Miura Sakura (a Chinese-speaking foot model who appears to be using the name, Miura Sakura, of a Japanese porn star), XNR VR-GTS (based in Hong Kong), and I’m 10cm (a Japanese woman with a fictional tiny boyfriend). The Miura Sakura channel features crush videos with the performer stomping on plastic water bottles and various toys, XNR VR-GTS features videos of models holding 360 degree camera, and I’m 10cm features low-angle videos to simulate the tiny boyfriend’s perspective.

They joined CGI artists Anonymoly, AZmaybe9, Iori Komatsu, and ROROrenRO who have been sharing original content on YouTube for years. Nigerian channel H2O Giantess TV, online since late August 2021, also continued to release live-action giantess videos:

(NOTE: I hope to do a more thorough analysis of H2O Giantess TV at some point.)

Furthermore, YouTubers who do not solely focus on size but only occasionally explore the topic produced fun clips. For example, Valentinski Productions released “A Little Man, A Big Problem” in which a lovely lady kissed a tiny man to restore his lost stature in a story similar to The Frog Prince.

Japanese manga had a number of series focused on a giantess main character. That included 70 Meter Girl, Big Girl on a Small Island, Chieri’s Love is 8 Meters, Giant Ojo-sama, and This Hero is Really Cute (heroine grows to giant size). Kodansha USA released an official English-language version of Small Nozomi and Big Yume. Kodansha first published that manga about a shrunken girl and her regular-sized associate in 2019 in Japan.

There were also works which fell into the realm of Amazons or mini-giantesses such as Giant Maid:

American comics had several size-changing characters on various teams. For example, DC Comics had Elasti-Girl in the Doom Patrol and Pira of the Cosmoteers in Superboy: The Man of Tomorrow. Frank Miller Presents had Big Sister a member of the Greater Good team in Ancient Enemies. However, compared to Japan, America had few comics solely dedicated to a size-changer with the exceptions of Marvel’s Wasp who had a four-issue run, Ms. Marvel whose stretching ability allows her to become a giantess of sorts, and the mini-giantess She-Hulk in Sensational She-Hulk. Furthermore, Japan had a good deal more romance in their size comics.

There are other size-themed comics, movies, and serialized shows on the horizon, but before we look at them let’s recognize some of the best from last year!

Top Ten of 2023

#10) “Cosmic Futas: A Giantess Growth Duel” by Mara More

This entry on the top ten list is for growth fans who also love hermaphrodite, or futanari, characters. I made that disclaimer to ensure that potential buyers are aware that there was little background or set-up instead this was all about the growing and sex including copious cum shots!

The word “futanari” or ふたなり (more rarely 二形 as kanji) in the original Japanese means dual form or two kinds. Futa or ふた is a prefix meaning two in words like “futari” two people and “futatsu” two things. However, futa by itself means lid. Therefore searching online for ふた returns advertisements and pictures of lids and not a bunch of feminine individuals who also have penises:

This search was conducted on January 13, 2024. Readers can try this experiment at home! Please let me know if the results differ significantly.

All of that was to establish that technically this should have been about lids in outer space though perhaps such would not attract a large audience. (More’s the pity 😉 )

Nonetheless, this was still a fun romp through an exceedingly fantastic scenario involving two aliens attempting to outgrow each other in an increasingly outlandish story which eventually reached universe and then multiverse scales.

Interested readers can purchase Cosmic Futas at the following link for $2.99 https://www.amazon.com/Cosmic-Futas-Giantess-Growth-Duel-ebook/dp/B0CGT33YP8

#9) “Futa Chronicles 3” by Lovely Lilith

Continuing the futanari theme, Lovely Lilith released this 17-minute video in mid-July for a price of $15.99 at Clips4Sale. At the beginning of Futa Chronicles, Lilith developed an attraction to blonde classmate and popular girl Jenny, also played by Lilith. Along with this budding sexual tension, Lilith also grew a penis! (As one does…) In the second episode she saw a school nurse and the helpful medical practitioner was accommodating enough to give a tit job to relieve the pressure. However, Lilith still struggled to accept the girthy organ between her legs. In Futa Chronicles 3 she sought out the assistance of an old friend. That friend had his own penis and thus she asked him for advice on how to deal with her problem.

One thing led to another and after showing each other their dicks, they fuck. Stuff got even more exciting when two roommates arrived and joined the action! So, just to be completely clear, a single performer (Lovely Lilith) simulated a group sex scene involving one woman (played by herself) plus three men. That was ambitious!

#8) “Shrinking Nuptials” by Destruction Damsels

This 8-minute clip included both a man and a woman shrinking. This addition to the Top Ten is for those folks who do not like growth. Goro, owner of Destruction Damsels, made this clip for fans who appreciate shrinking. It starred Lady Piedmont as a witch who wanted to shrink her future spouse with a spell. (As one does… 😉 ) Shrunken women fans who appreciate a well-executed shrinking sequence will love it!

A little something for the foot fans. Or should that read a “big something“? 🙂

#7) “Battle Of The Bigs Mandy vs Divina“ by Bratty Foot Girls

The studio released Battle of the Bigs on April 6, 2023 with a 9-minute runtime. Mandy Wolf and Divina Charisma starred in this clip produced by Jason Ninja, the owner of Bratty Foot Girls studio. The plot was simple and straight-forward. One woman used a growth device against the wishes of the other. The second woman then grew in order to confront the first. Eventually, one of them decisively defeated the other.

My favorite aspect of this video was a particular shot in which one of the ladies was growing. According to my conversation with Jason, he achieved this effect using a drone and it required a few attempts. This was Jason’s first time attempting such a shot and in his words “… that entire clip was borne from that one idea I wanted to try out…

#6) “From MILF to She Hulk” from Buddah’s Playground

Comics and videos featuring attractive older women have proliferated at sites such as Clips4Sale and BotComics. InterWeb Comics also used MILF many times as tag for various series on its site Giantess Fan. The comic publisher used MILF to describe comics like “Company Party,” “The Slimming Clinic,” and “Undertoe and Little Leather.” Even a search at Clips4Sale limited to only the videos released on a single day last April returned numerous results including, but not limited to, “Feet Tickle MILF,” “MILF Kisses Teen,” and “MILF Rope Bondage.”

Accordingly, there appears to be a substantial audience for the MILF theme. This 11-minute clip fit that theme and added size increase into the mix.

#5) “The Ravishing Miniaturists” by Amber Collins

A novel-length size story is an awesome thing! The norm is for quick reads and undeveloped narratives. They are typically brief and lack character development, engaging plot arcs, etc. Thus it was refreshing to read something with a bit more meat on its bones.

There were several fantastical physical transformations. People grew and shrank to various heights ranging from tiny to truly titanic! There were also numerous instances of involuntary gender bending. Some violence was involved with people being killed and tortured as well as numerous structures being leveled. That noted none of the violence felt gratuitous or overly graphic. The story provided several sex scenes plus scenes of many people growing out of buildings and shrinking out of clothing. There was also a steam-powered aesthetic, particularly in the second half, appropriate for a fantasy in the Victorian era.

#4) “My Shrinking Husband” by Giantess Fan

Wang of Sedna Studio drew My Shrinking Husband and Mac Rome wrote it for Giantess Fan. In the span of only two issues this included multiple scenes of a man shrinking while his wife experienced breast growth, copious lactation, and height increase! Moreover, this was no selfishly-driven transformation, but rather this incredible transformation helped not only her tiny husband, but also numerous tiny people around the world! How can anyone not love an ultra-busty woman helping humanity via vigorous love making?

#3) “Bronze Skin” by Pedro Barreto

Pedro first published this free comic series in the summer of 2019. Since then he has released more than 40 chapters! That’s a lot of comic for zero cost. Who among us would not be utterly delighted by a curvaceous giantess dancing during Carnaval? Furthermore, between all the lovingly hand-drawn images of voluptuous sunbathers were repeated references to Brazilian mythology in the form of creatures such as the Boto-Cor-De-Rosa, a fantastical dolphin which can assume human form and seduce women. (As one does… )

Bronze Skin can be found at Tapas and Webtoon.

#2) “Wendy’s Dream” by AlavGTS

Wendy’s Dream is another free comic series which consists of nearly 900 CGI images! The growing started early on in the narrative after Wendy dreamed of being a giantess. Wendy, a voluptuous woman even at the onset, steadily became even more voluptuous starting on page 11 and continuing as the plot progressed. Her slow growth spread to two other women called Lora and Maria. Wendy’s boyfriend Tom shrinks a bit in the process, but that didn’t stop him from making passionate love to his partner.

Wendy’s Dream can be found at DeviantArt.

#1) “Chieri’s Love is 8 Meters” by Mitogawa Wataru

In contrast to the other entries on the Top Ten this manga was decidedly less explicit. Sure it teased sexual situations, as seen above, in which a giantess shoved a lucky classmate between her super-humanly large breasts. Nonetheless, there will be no nudity or Heaven forbid sex drawn within the pages.

Instead, this was a feel-good read of young love. There was little drama and the two primary characters, regular-sized Yumeji and gigantic Chieri, advanced their romantic relationship at a snail’s pace. The author devoted umpteen pages to setting up their first kiss so this was a slow burn. Still, the cozy and warm feelings engendered in this manga made it a comfortable read. The near future will have more than its fair share of stressful events to include, but not limited to, severe weather such as the deadly earthquake on New Year’s Day in western Japan, the ongoing Russian invasion of Ukraine, and upcoming American elections. A feel-good read such as Chieri’s Love is 8 Meters will comfort size fans in the midst of such turmoil.

So, those were my picks for Top Ten of 2023. What do you think? There were more stories and videos made last year than I could afford to purchase. Thus, I was unable to read or watch everything. Undoubtedly, some of that media was worthy of recognition. So what did I miss? Let me know your own Top Ten in the comments below, via the Contact form, or e-mail me at solomong_author@outlook.com

Hopes for 2024

This post has just recognized several noteworthy works from 2023 so let’s now look into the future. There are early signs that 2024 will be good for There She Grows and fans of size fetish in general.

A fortune-telling machine (the 萌神社 kizashi-jinja shown above) gave me a favorable omikuji (fortune-telling paper strip) with a small blessing. It was not the best possible blessing, but it also was not one of the curses a person might get! So, all in all, not a bad outcome.

Several series should release new installments soon. For instance, Giantlands Volume 1 Chapter 2 by Angel has already had a few pages released onto DeviantArt (click here for Angel’s page). The first chapter’s review can be read here. I hope that Giantlands gets a Part 2 in 2024! Furthermore, YouTubers BigBeerBear and JoeTheVenezuelan should be releasing Project Angel Episode 4 and Linda’s Tale: Episode 4 respectively.

Moreover, American comic book covers occasionally fit in quite comfortably with the themes of giants and vore. However, I certainly do not expect that trend to continue. One should not anticipate, just to give a random example, vore to appear on the variant cover drawn by Felipe Massafera for Batman #141 with a release date of March 2024. That would be crazy 😉

Turning now to the world of amateur size-fetish video makers, Gary Pranzo (a.k.a. Racerx135), founder of Media Impact LLC in 1995, has consolidated thirteen old sites into one new site: https://www.gtszone.com/x-new/new-index.php There were nearly 2,000 size fetish clips available to watch online (but not download) as of mid-January for a monthly subscription cost of $19.99. I haven’t had a chance to explore the new GtsZone.com, but that’s a lot of videos for only twenty bucks! Furthermore, Gary is in the process of adding more. I’ll try to analyze the pros and cons of a GTS Zone membership later this year.

Destruction Damsels (a.k.a. Goro Brava Productions) intends to film two new growth scenes, one with Sugargirlmodel and the other with Bratty Roo, in January. Additionally, they planned to do the post-production work on two scenes with Mel Heflin. If all goes as planned then the studio may release up to five clips in 2024!

Size-changing Japanese hero Ultraman previously inspired Hiroya Oku’s character Papiko in the pages of the GIGANT manga, as discussed in this review. Ultraman will continue to inspire size-fetish productions this year. Zen pictures announced on their web site that 巨大ヒロイン エリシア Giant Heroine Elysia should be digitally released in January and out on DVD in February. Click here for more details in Japanese.

Giant Heroine Elysia

In the same vein 空想科学 巨大ヒロイン ヴェルザンディ Science Fiction Giant Heroine Velzandi is projected for an April 2024 release. Additional release details, in Japanese, can be found by clicking here.

Science Fiction Giant Heroine Velzandi

Ultraman’s mission is to fight gigantic monsters. Image Comics character Ultramega has a similar mission. Dave Stewart wrote that series and Image Comics published it in 2021, but the publisher has not released any more issues since the initial run. However, series artist James Harren sent a tweet in mid-July 2023 stating that he was working on Ultramega. So, with any luck that means new issues are forthcoming!

There are also noteworthy American movies coming in the immediate future:

An upcoming A24 film called “Love Lies Bleeding” had brief female muscle growth in its trailer. I do not anticipate that it will focus on growth and that scene will probably be a dream. However, the movie makers did a good job executing the female muscle growth in the trailer. Thus, this film itself may be worth a watch for muscle growth fans. Love Lies Bleeding will premiere at Sundance this month with a broader public release planned for early March.

In the realm of micro-budget films, Jeff Leroy may release Giantess Attack vs The Turle-Nator soon. Although, an Indiegogo campaign meant to fund the project came far short (only raised $3,970) of its $25,000 goal. The crowd-sourced fundraising campaign gave an estimate of February to April 2024 for many of the deliverables, including Blu-ray and DVD copies, which may be delayed or potentially cancelled due to the financial shortfall. (NOTE: For previous analysis of Jeff Leroy’s size-themed movies see the reviews of “Giantess Attack!” and “Giantess Attack vs. Mecha-Fembot!”)

I asked Bill Black in early August about “Colossa.” That is a giantess film which has been in development for several years. The image below is a preview:

I was only two payments away from paying that car off 😥

However, the development of Colossa may be in jeopardy based on the following e-mail:

For a review of one of Bill Black’s giantess flicks see Nightveil Media’s “Stormy Tempest: Attack of the Giantess.”

Amazon Prime Video will likely provide more content for size fans in an upcoming season of Gen V. Variety reported in late October that Amazon had renewed the series. One of the characters in that series, Emma Meyer, has the power to shrink to a few inches tall or grow to several times regular size. Amazon has not yet provided an official release date, but my guess is that Season 2 will appear in 2025. Although, gentle fans may want to steer clear of this bloody franchise.

Variety also reported that animated series Harley Quinn will get another season. That show has already depicted Bane as a horny giant (in the Valentine’s Day special) and Poison Ivy as a giantess (in Season 1 Episode 12) so there’s a distinct possibility that more size goodness is coming.

There is also a live-action adaptation of My Hero Academia in the works. Although, the latest news on that adaptation dates back to an article in The Hollywood Reporter from mid-December 2022 (click here to read that). So far, the production company has only selected the writer, Joby Harold, and the director, Shinsuke Sato. Here’s hoping that production begins soon and includes Mt Lady! The blonde giantess appeared in the first chapter of the manga and in the first episode of the anime so there is precedence to expect her at the beginning of the live-action adaption.

Lastly, I’d like to make a request of American readers. As mentioned previously, there are upcoming American elections scheduled for November 5, 2024. These will select a President and Vice-President, every member of the House, as well as 34 Senators on the national level. Important elections will also take place at the state and local levels. These elections are important because they will affect issues such as abortion access, LGBT rights, and voting rights. Put bluntly, people particularly minorities and women may suffer depending on the outcome. Abortion restrictions and election lies have already negatively effected women such as Kate Cox, Kylie Beaton, and Ruby Freeman and her daughter Wandrea “Shaye” Moss. However, by voting we can replace those politicians who hurt the most vulnerable people in our society.

Accordingly, I ask Americans to make a plan and vote! There are more than 9 months left until the elections. That is plenty of time to clear schedules and make arrangements to either mail a ballot or vote in person. Please visit https://www.vote.org/ for more information on absentee voting, identification requirements, and registration.

That’s it for today folks. Hopefully, this article gave a helpful overview of 2023 and an exciting preview of the future from the perspective of a macrophile.

The next article will discuss the forgotten 1950s TV series World of Giants. ClassicFix recently released that black and white TV show about a diminutive government agent on physical media. Until then, keep growing!
